LUCKY’S MANAGER POSITION
We are seeking an individual with a love for animals and a great personality. If you have a heart and passion for animals and a head for business with customer service and sales skills, this is the job for you. Animal care, retail, restaurant and customer service experience is a plus! Position requires an active person with multi-tasking skills, a high energy level because a lot of time will be spent on your feet and someone who is literally not afraid to get their hands dirty, even management “scoops”!
This person will ensure the safety and security of pets, customers, associates and visitors. You must ensure the proper care of all pets in our care. As well as, computer, phone and customer skills, and contact with pets’ daily. You must be able to work flexible schedules and hours- we are open 7 days a week, so one weekend day is required as well as holidays.

- Professional appearance; clean attire, friendly, mature and professional demeanor
- Being PUNCTUAL is a MUST
- Above average PC and telephone skills
- Comfortable around all sizes and species of animals
- Excellent communication skills- with customers as well as fellow employees
- Multi-tasking abilities is a must and must be able to prioritize
- STRONG organizational skills
- Previous veterinary experience preferred (will consider no veterinary experience)
- Must be able to work weekends and Holidays
- Fast learner with lots of initiative
- A dynamic, friendly, high energy and motivated individual
- Most of all an animal lover!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following, however other duties may be assigned.
- Greet and welcome customers and pets in a friendly and professional manner
- Overseeing and assisting in animal care
- Responsible for providing high quality customer service and for effectively communicating Lucky’s policies and procedures to the public, acting on the principle that the customer comes first”
- Interact with the public by phone and in person to answer questions about the Lucky’s services
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, multi-line phones, filing and records maintenance as necessary
- Perform pre-entry exams on all check in pets, inform pet parents of any information on their pet you might notice, re-check feeding, health and any status of the pets conditions.
- Proper Animal restraint.
- Invoice and collect payment.
- Responsible for following approved procedures and policies
- Responsible for collecting monies ensuring proper identification is received
- Responsible for maintaining cash drawer and providing daily reconciliation’s
- Willingly assist internal staff in all Lucky’s programs and special events.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, management and the public at all times
- Opening and Closing the facility
- Ensure daily checklist of all shifts and schedules of staff
- Addressing customer and employee complaints and resolving problems
- Politely and Professionally respond in person and by phone all inquires of our facility
- Direct supervision of all staff including; hiring, training, performance, evaluations and scheduling
- Oversee facility upkeep/operations
- Completing daily reports
- Additional general duties and project work as needed
- Prepare for the following day of operations; paperwork/ medications etc.
- Back up PC’s Nightly
QUALIFICATIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION, SKILL, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate or equivalent required. Two years experience in customer service preferred, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have experience using multi-line phones, multi-tasking and one-year data entry experience. Cash handling ,familiarity with MS office software and office equipment. Experience in animal sheltering, veterinary or animal boarding facilities is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Individual will have extended periods of sitting, standing, talking and hearing. May need to bend, stoop and stretch for purposes of filing and lifting and moving of supplies of up to 50 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor and outdoors exposure that includes environmental conditions and working closely with animals.
